The world is facing a crisis like nothing before.  We are united in our battle against this sickness.

Many of you might be trying to think of what you can do.

We urge you to pray for the peoples of the world.  The medical professionals, the police, fire services and anyone else working in frontline services.  We also urge you to pray for your family, friends, neighbours and all of God’s children all over the world.

Reach out and make contact with people and let them know you are thinking of them and that they are not alone.

In line with guidelines from various governments all over the world.  We have suspended all gatherings, pastoral visits(unless urgently needed).  Many of us our self isolating.

Prayer

God of Miriam and Moses,
you are our help from age to age.

Accept our worship, our living sacrifice,
and transform us by your Spirit,
that, being many members of one true body,
we may dare to pray together
in the name of Christ the Lord.

Amen.

Psalm 8

From the mouths of infants

O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouths of babes and infants
you have founded a bulwark because of your foes,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you have established;
what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them?

Yet you have made them a little lower than God,

and crowned them with glory and honour.

You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet,
all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Exodus 1:1-7

Israel multiplies in Egypt

These are the names of the sons of Israel who came to Egypt with Jacob, each with his household: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin, Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher. The total number of people born to Jacob was seventy. Joseph was already in Egypt. Then Joseph died, and all his brothers, and that whole generation. But the Israelites were fruitful and prolific; they multiplied and grew exceedingly strong, so that the land was filled with them.

Romans 2:1-11

The righteous judgment of God

Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others; for in passing judgement on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things. You say, “We know that God’s judgement on those who do such things is in accordance with truth.” Do you imagine, whoever you are, that when you judge those who do such things and yet do them yourself, you will escape the judgement of God? Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realise that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But by your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgement will be revealed. For he will repay according to each one’s deeds: to those who by patiently doing good seek for glory and honour and immortality, he will give eternal life; while for those who are self-seeking and who obey not the truth but wickedness, there will be wrath and fury. There will be anguish and distress for everyone who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partiality.
